Yoshiko was born in Japan in a very traditional Japanese environment. Her childhood studies included Japanese Tea Ceremony, flower arrangement, and the Koto instrument.
She earned her Bachelors of Fine Art from Kanazawa College of Art and Craft in Kanazawa Japan. Her studies included Fine Art, Design and Craft, with a specialty in textile/weaving. She went on to earn her Masters of Fine Art from Tokyo National University Fine Art and Music. There she worked with Fiber Art and held a Membership in the Japanese Modern Art Association.
Yoshiko moved to the United States to earn her second Maters of Fine Art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago attending the Fiber Department.
She worked as a fiber artist for many years and continues to work in the fashion design field.
